Have fun with this, when your child traces a letter accurately make this a huge achievment and let them know it for example clapping your hands and cheering with each new letter traced correctly. Your child is ready to do the next one and hear the joy from their parents mouth. Save time by creating handwriting worksheets, with dot to dot fonts.

Have fun writing a story together, although while your child is tracing the letters you may have to write the story. Or a thank you note to Grandparents start with a simple scenario, or something they are familiar with “There was a little girl called…. your child to fill in the blanks. Make this process fun and easy for children, laugh at the funny stuff, or make funny stuff up. “There once was a little girl who had a pink elephant”. Or “ There once was a little girl who always helped her friends……”

Once you have installed e-flashcards on your computer you can actively sit with your child. Each flashcard lesson displays the letter or word for 10 seconds you can step forward, back and pause the lesson for those tricky words.

The lessons can also be displayed in full screen mode – enabling your child to learn the words passively. The more the child sees words the more familiar the word becomes to the child.
